SUMMARY:West Open Disability Badminton Championships
DESCRIPTION:Disability Sport Glasgow\, in partnership with Glasgow Disability Badminton Club\, Glasgow & North Strathclyde Badminton Group\, Badminton Scotland and Scottish Disability Sport are delighted to invite entries from across Scotland to the first ever West Open Disability Badminton Championships. This is a singles only competition and cost per player is £8. \nSCHEDULE: \nRegistration will open at 9.15am and the championships will begin at 10.00am sharp. The schedule and draw will depend on the number of entries and will be completed one week before the event. We aim to do a round robin format to ensure everyone gets multiple games before a knockout stage or final. \nSECTIONS: \nThere will be four sections of the competition which are mixed gender and minimum age is 12. \nA –          Open Class for Players who use a Wheelchair (WC) \nB –          Open Class for Players with an ambulant Physical Disability (PD) \nC –          Open Class for Players with a Learning Disability (LD) \nD –         Open Class for Short Stature Players (SS) \n     CATERING: \n     We recommend bringing your lunch.  There is a small snack bar for tea\, coffee and soft drinks (open 10am -1pm) \nRULES: \nAll round robin matches will be played first to 21 with extended scoring. SUMMARY:Adult Match Play
DESCRIPTION:With organised badminton activity allowed again we are delighted to be organising a second Adult Match Play session for players 16+ on Saturday 10th July\, 13:30-16:30.  We are running this session at the SCR Cockburn Centre. We expect that all levels will be able to participate in this session including: \n\nBeginner – no prior experience of competitions or returning after long period away from the sport\nSocial – bit of playing experience but for social purposes (keep fit and making friends) or have competed in local competitions \nCompetitive – play league matches\, competitions or ranking events including B & C Grade\nPerformance – compete in A Grade tournaments and represent county\n\nCost is £10 for the session (per person) and due to Covid pre-booking via GoMembership is essential\, please do not turn up on the day.   \nFull refunds will be given if Covid-related changes occur.  For all other reason\, only £9 will be returned to cover costs incurred.  No refund will be given with less than 48 hours before event. \nVenue is SCR Cockburn Centre\, 40 Bogmoor Place\, Govan\, Glasgow\, G51 4TQ. \nMatches will be doubles only.  These will be based on ability\, making sure everyone has a challenge and a chance to play against people they do not play regularly. \nThere are 6 courts and a 30 player limit (15 pairs) so there is plenty of court time available. \nThis will be fun and friendly\, allowing players to gently re-introduce themselves back to competitive match play.
